Learning Objectives: By the end of the lesson,
students will be able to write a short story in paragraph.
Learning Outcomes: Students will be
successful if they can:
1. Plan and retell the
story in written form
2. Arrange the story
according to the correct plot
LESSON OUTLINE:
Set Induction (5 minutes):
- Teacher tells students that they are going to
write a story.
- Teacher shows a diagram – which represents the
exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
- Teacher shows an animated short film titled ‘Don’t
Croak’
- Teacher shows pictures of the main characters
Teacher asks
students to describe the main character
Eg : What do they think about the frog?
What
do they think could happen otherwise?
Development (15 minutes):
- Teacher shows the story map of Don’t Croak

Teacher brief about plot of the story by referring to
the plot diagram.
- Teacher creates a discussion of what has happened in
the story
Eg :
What happened at the beginning?
What happened next?
Where is the climax?
Activity (35 minutes):

Students are divided into 4 groups
-
Each group need to use one PC
-
Student need to re-tell the story of Don’t Croak, however,
they need to change the ending.

Each group need to write their story in a padlet
prepared by teacher.

Students can change the genre according to their
reference as long as they maintain the characters and the roles

After all groups have posted their answers, teacher
will create an open discussion. Students will read the stories from other
groups and they are encouraged to comments or ask questions related to it.
Closure (5 minutes):

Teacher emphasizes on what the students have
learnt in the lesson.

Teacher highlights the elements in plot.
